During 2005, Finance and Administration met the challenge to control over 6,000 donations exceeding $1.1 million to the AKC CAR Canine Support and Relief Fund for animals affected by the Gulf Coast and Florida hurricanes. Donations were received from the public, AKC employees, AKC Board of Directors and Delegates, AKC affiliated clubs, and other organizations. This generosity provided essential financial support for AKC CAR Canine Support and Relief Fund necessities for animal victims.

As a final note, Joseph Baffuto and Brett Nasello were both promoted to the position of Assistant Controller in April 2005, complementing the management team of the Finance department.
