The Human Resources division manages staffing, employee compensation and benefits, employee relations, and training.

The division's ongoing "AKC University" presents a variety of employee training and education programs. In 2005, these presentations touched upon, among other topics, the improvement of writing and computer skills, and management training.

"World of AKC" sessions explain the functions of the various departments and programs. A new series in 2005 educated employees on the history, form, and function of AKC breeds. In all, Human Resources offered presentations on 27 different topics, with 1,215 attendees.

A tuition-reimbursement program for employees working toward academic degrees and advanced skills enhances the value of these individuals to the AKC. As a result, 17 employees enrolled in 34 college classes.
