The Internal Consulting Group, a six-member employee team, works to solve problems, develop
business plans, increase registrations, and generate revenue. The ICG also serves as a training program for
future AKC management. During 2004, ICG was especially concerned with efficiency and customer service.
A major initiative for the year was the launch of Online Breeder Classifieds. ICG conducted preliminary research
for the project and helped coordinate work of the departments involved in implementing the new service.
The group was involved in transforming the AKC Stud Book from a paper product into an online service for library
reference, parent clubs, and research use; revising the “Why Register?” brochure; enhancing the Canine Good
Citizen evaluator approval process; identifying new online service offerings; and developing service-level
agreements, which help AKC departments define their core functions and create efficiencies.
In January, Connie Pearcy was named assistant vice president of Internal Consulting.
