It’s been said that we can chart our future clearly and wisely only when we know the path which has led to the present. The American Kennel Club takes these words to heart. Few pastimes are as steeped in history as the sport of dogs. Our 2004 report is dedicated to the people of the past 120 years who have contributed to this rich heritage. Some were famous to the world at large, others only within our fellowship of fanciers. What unites them is the legacy of excellence and integrity they bequeathed to us. AKC will draw upon these traditions as we plot our course for the future.
